Experience

I'm David Hamidy, and I'm a 19 year old living in Alpharetta, GA. I graduated high school this past May from Fideles Christian School in Cumming, GA. I founded David Tutors, my tutoring company, in June 2015 as a summer job before I start college at the University of Mississippi, where I will be studying secondary English education. I have been tutoring since September 2013 when I joined Kids Corps, a tutoring club at Mercer Island High School in Seattle, WA. I continue to tutor students I worked with in Seattle, including a fifth grader named Brian, who moved back to South Korea, his home country. I tutor him via Skype on a weekly basis. I tutor to help kids out. I believe the three most important resources in a community are: friendship, connection, and the youth. Teaching is related to all three. That's why I don't just tutor to improve grades and test scores. These come naturally when appreciation for learning to learn about the self improves. Kids are influenced not only by their parents and friends, but also by what they learn in school. Their philosophies, tendencies, and ideas are shaped by the knowledge they read, the problems they solve. I believe high achievement marks are made when a student isn't working solely for an A, but when he is working to better himself as an individual in the community.
