I have a strong educational background that includes bachelor's degrees in English and Theatre Arts from LaGrange College. I am currently attending the University of Georgia, studying Secondary English Education.I have eight years of experience tutoring. Some of the assignments that have added to my skills and tutoring ability included working at both a theatre camp and a science camp, and tutoring science and math to ESL students. I am involved with many aspects of the theatre, including acting in and directing several productions. I also have experience giving speeches to various groups of people.My background lends itself to tutoring students of all ages in drama, writing, public speaking, and reading. However, I can tutor a wide range of subjects, including elementary and middle school math and science, study skills and organization, and college essay editing.My teaching philosophy centers on making the materials relevant to my students. If they can relate to materials on a personal level, they will want to learn. Then it will come more quickly and easily. I hope to help my students gain confidence in themselves and discover skills that they might not know they have.When I'm not tutoring, you can find me reading, writing, acting, directing, traveling, and baking.
