As a mother, I believe it is important to have open communication between the teacher and the parent. This is a large part of the tutoring process for me. I want parents to know how their child is progressing and if there are any issues they need to be made aware of. I have worked with a variety of students from elementary school to college levels. With each student comes a new set of challenges and a new opportunity for the both of us to learn. I believe it is important to encourage students to do their best, yet still push them toward success. I want them to focus and put their best efforts into whatever issue may be at hand. Unlike a traditional classroom setting, tutoring allows for more one-on-one time. This allows me to build lessons catered toward the student's own personal needs. I am available to tutor in algebra, test preparation, geometry, trigonometry, and TACHS. I have attended both Dowling College and State University of New York-Stony Brook. I hold a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in education. I am certified through the state of New York to teach 5th through 12th grade.When I am not tutoring, I enjoy swimming, reading, spending time with my family, and practicing yoga.
